I have a slight preference for Chrome but Safari is more compatible with the PACER/ECF system.

We use a combination of Chrome and Camino (for those few sites that don’t play well with either Chrome or Safari). Honestly, I was a happy Safari user until stability went out the window. Not a day would go by that Safari didn’t crash (and recovery didn’t always work).

I prefer Chrome as I’m addicted to searching from the URL window. I use Camino for sites that don’t like Chrome. I also use Stainless, which operates much like Chrome, if I need to access two Google accounts at the same time.

I prefer Firefox. I wanted to like Chrome, and I do. However, the lack of an extension like Tab Mix Plus was a hit to my preference of the address bar opening a new tab.

Tien, I discovered (by accident) that you can open an address or search from the address bar in Chrome by doing Command-Enter. Your typing appears to change the current tab’s address. But when you hit Command-Enter, the current tab address bar reverts to the existing address and a new tab is opened.

Tien, the “address bar” is actually called the “omnibar” and it doubles as a search window and address bar. After using it exclusively as my browser for a few months now, I actually prefer that to the traditional “address bar and search bar” setup that most browsers use, because it’s faster to not have to deal with two separate entry places.
Now, if opening new tabs is the real issue, then simply hitting Command + T will open a new tab in Chrome, as it will in most browsers. You can then move between the tabs quickly in Chrome by hitting Cmd + 1 to view the first tab, Cmd + 2 to view the second one, etc. Hope these tips help…
